Details &
Description

This private and peaceful estate is a true Miami classic, featuring a Mediterranean-inspired design by famous architect Russell Pancoast. Born into the world of Miami real estate (as the grandson of Miami Beach development magnate John A. Collins), Pancoast left a significant impression on the design landscape of the city, and is considered a pioneer in the Art Deco style that dominated Miami Beach long before it began its trajectory towards becoming a hotspot for the world’s jet setters.

Located on Di Lido island, one of Miami’s desirable Venetian Islands, the property offers eastern exposure and 60 ft. of water frontage, including deep-water dockage for up to two 80-ft. boats, along with a 12,000-lb. electronic lift. The waterside of the property also includes a custom pool and spa, and a large pool deck with ample room for dining and sun bathing.

The property’s owners have performed various renovations in order to modernize the residence, while still maintaining the integrity of Pancoast’s original design. Prominent features include a gourmet kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances, large master suite with expansive walk-in closet, formal dining, and a waterfront grand salon and sunroom.

Unique design accents of the estate include terracotta, travertine and oak flooring, natural Florida limestone throughout exterior living areas, Italian coffered ceilings (handmade in Murano, Italy), a 100-year old crystal chandelier, and a hand-wrought iron entry gate.

THE VENETIAN ISLANDS | MIAMI BEACH, FL. The Venetian Islands are a chain of manmade islands located in Miami’s Biscayne Bay, just west of southern Miami Beach. There are five Venetian Islands in total: Biscayne, San Marco, San Marino, Di Lido, and Rivo Alto (listed from west to east). Miami’s other popular islands – Star, Hibiscus, and Palm Island – are just south of the Venetian Islands, followed by the McArthur Causeway (I-395), which serves as the primary roadway to and from southern Miami Beach.

Four of the Venetian Islands (San Marco, San Marino, Di Lido, and Rivo Alto) are comprised entirely of single-family homes, the majority of which are waterfront properties. This ensures the islands remain private and peaceful, as compared to the hustle-and-bustle of the core areas of the Miami Beach’s marketplace. (The luxury auction℠ property is located on the eastern side of Di Lido Island).

The Venetian Causeway traverses the Venetian Islands, connecting the mainland of Miami (just north of the American Airlines Arena), to Miami Beach (at the northern edge of South Beach, near famous Lincoln Road). This unique location – offering residents the ability to be in downtown Miami or the heart of South Beach within minutes, all while living on a secluded, private island – makes the Venetian Islands a highly desirable real estate market.

The small, uninhabited Flagler Monument Island is located immediately southwest of the three, central Venetian Islands. The island is a popular spot for locals to drop anchor and enjoy swimming, sunbathing, beach volleyball and barbecuing. (In fact, the luxury auction℠ property is close enough to the island that you can preserve you boat fuel and arrive on shore via paddle board).

The Venetian Islands have become increasingly popular in recent years (notching a series of significant home sales well in excess of $10 million each), in part been due to their proximity to Miami Beach’s Sunset Harbor neighborhood. Located largely on the Biscayne Bay in the northwestern corner of south Miami Beach, Sunset Harbour has become one of Miami’s hottest new neighborhoods. The area’s gentrification has been fueled by the vision of some of Miami’s most prominent developers and real estate tastemakers, and includes new residential and commercial developments. Fine restaurants, coffee bars, retail shops, and fitness studios are all within walking distance of one another in the neighborhood.
