The Community

WEST LINN, OR. A southern suburb of the Portland metropolitan area located in Clackamas County, West Linn was settled in 1839. Originally home to the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde Community, the area was desirable due to its positioning on the Willamette River and proximity to the Willamette Falls, which provided transportation and energy to the growing community. Incorporated in 1913, West Linn and the adjacent town of Willamette merged in 1916, and the city has steadily increased in population from 1,628 to over 25,000.

In 2011, West Linn was the top Oregon city on CNN/Money Magazine’s “Best Places to Live” list due to its incredible views of the surrounding Cascade mountain range and relatively low local taxes.
