The Property

PREVIOUSLY OFFERED FOR $13.9 MILLION. NOW SELLING AT OR ABOVE ONLY $4 MILLION! Located in southern Utah near the town of Boulder, this +570-acre working ranch provides a unique opportunity for ownership in a quintessentially American landscape. Wild and beautiful, the Ranch is one of the few private holdings in a region dominated by private lands, not least of which is the Escalante Canyons Unit of the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. The Property – affectionately called “Wine Bar Ranch” – raises a grass-fed Angus herd and award-winning quarter horses; in fact, the Ranch has one of the most exceptional equestrian facilities in the state comprised of a 70,000-sf indoor area and multiple barns and hay storages. Grazing permits and water shares / rights are already in place, creating a seamless transition for a new owner.

Multiple housing facilities (including a guest house, caretaker’s residence and staff quarters) are available, but the main ranch home is a charming two-story residence with 6,000 interior sf, 6 bedrooms, 4 full and 2 half baths, and a beautiful main-level master suite. Hardwood floors gleam, and the surrounding mountains can be viewed from nearly every room.

BOULDER, UT. Although Boulder is four hours from the metropolis of Salt Lake City, the residents of this small, remarkable town don’t need to travel to enjoy the best that Utah has to offer. Settled by Pueblo Indians and then by Mormon travelers, Boulder is a town of about 200 residents visited by thousands who wish to experience the incomparable landscapes including Grand Staircase Escalante / Escalante Canyon National Monuments, Capital Reef National Park, and Boulder Mountain itself. From incredible slot canyons of ageless sandstone to the historic Burr Trail, Boulder has many places perfect for unplugging from the hectic pace of the modern world.

Emphasizing the desire of the residents to maintain the unspoiled beauty of the region, local commerce is focused on family-operated businesses that contribute to the unforgettable landscapes of Boulder. From the collection of small bed-and-breakfasts to organic farms supplying a nationally-acclaimed restaurant commended by the industry-leading James Beard Foundation and Oprah herself, the residents of Boulder are the basis of one of the town’s mottos: “once inaccessible, now incomparable.”

The Location

GARFIELD COUNTY, UT.  A 5,158-square-mile area named after President James Garfield, Garfield County holds several historical distinctions: initially settled by Mormon pioneer Ebenezer Bryce, it was the site of a 1890s gold rush, and was the last town in the U.S. to receive mail by mule (more modern methods finally prevailed in the 1940s). Vast expanses of rangeland and some of the largest forest reserves in the state have made ranching and logging the most important economic industries in Garfield County, but the creation of Bryce Canyon National Park in 1928 made tourism equally significant.

Since then, millions have visited the spectacular lands of Garfield County, which provide access to almost a dozen national and state parks. In addition to the adjacent Grand Staircase-Escalante / Escalante Canyons Monuments, the Escalante Petrified Forest, Dixie National Forest, Fishlake National Forest, Canyonlands National Park, and the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area are all within a half day’s drive.
