Surrounded by peaks and valleys carved by ancient glaciers, the Ranch is situated at an altitude of 6,676 feet, offering vistas that include the breathtaking Engineer Mountain (known as a “high 12-er” at 12,968 ft), as well as the estate’s extensive gardens.

The property’s location has the benefit of day-long sun unobscured by mountain shadows. Irrigated pastures and fields are enjoyed by pheasants, ducks, and geese year-round, while roving elk herds arrive in the fall, winter and spring.

A standout feature of Beaumont Ranch is its +/- 1,700 ft of the Animas River, which allows for world-class sport fishing quite literally in the backyard! The river (which supports large and aggressive rainbow trout) is also complimented by six productive trout ponds on the property.

A fenced, 4-acre pasture is suitable for horses, cattle, goats, or other livestock, while a heated greenhouse and fenced vegetable garden allow for home-grown produce regardless of the season. Ample water rights exist for gravity irrigation through the Sullivan Wallace Ditch system off the Animas River, with a flow of nearly two million gallons of water per day during the irrigation season (enough water to irrigate +/- 67 acres). Two wells, with flows ranging from 60 to 240 gallons per minute, support 100-ft gun sprinklers and provide periodic water flow to ponds in the winter months.
