The Community

PEDREGAL DE CABO SAN LUCAS, MEX. Pedregal is considered one of the finest, private residential communities in all of Cabo San Lucas. With a nearly 30-year history, along with the continued development of new, multimillion-dollar homes by both private individuals and speculative builders, the community has proven that it remains a desirable – and stable – luxury real estate enclave in the Baja California Sur.

While the majority of properties in the core of Pedregal are very large, luxurious estates, there are also a number of townhomes and condominiums. The elevation of the community allows for magnificent views of the ocean from many of the properties that are nestled into the slopes of the hills and small mountains there.

Despite the fairly significant grade of some of Pedregal’s hills, the area’s architects and builders utilize what can only be considered an exceptional degree of skill to create beautiful estates, may of which are multi-level, stepped designs that flow with the grade of the land.

Although there is quite a bit of heterogeneity in the design of the many luxury homes there, the differing designs seem to add an extra layer of charm to Pedregal, when coupled with its winding, cobbled roads and sublime ocean backdrop. The Location

CABO SAN LUCAS, MEX. Significantly evolved beyond its humble beginnings as a fishing village, and much more than a mere spring break location, Cabo San Lucas has solidified itself as a coveted destination for travelers from all over the world. Often simply called “Cabo,” the city is located at the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula, in the Mexican state of Baja California Sur.

Cabo is at the southern portion of what is known as the Los Cabos Corridor, an area stretching about 30 km along the southern coast of the Baja California Peninsula. San José del Cabo is at the northern tip of the Corridor (San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas collectively form the Los Cabos area). In addition to nearly perpetual sunshine, clear blue skies and strikingly blue ocean waters, Cabo also benefits from a warm climate that lacks excess humidity and is tempered by ocean breezes. This makes the area popular for outdoor activities like swimming, snorkeling, sunbathing, riding ATVs through the desert-like inland areas, and – of course – boating and fishing. In fact, Cabo is home to Bisbee’s Black & Blue (the highest paying billfish tournament in the world) whose 2006 overall cash payout of $4,165,960 is still the largest in sportfishing history.

One of the most distinctive geographic features in Cabo San Lucas is El Arco de Cabo San Lucas, a beautiful and famous arched rock formation at the southernmost tip of the Baja California Peninsula that marks the point at which the Pacific Ocean becomes the Gulf of California. Cabo’s commercial port and sizable marina are located just northwest of the arch, within a protected harbor. In addition, a fashionable shopping mall called Luxury Avenue offering upscale clothing, beauty and jewelry stores and Cabo’s bustling entertainment district (boasting a brand new OMNIA “dayclub” and Hakkasan Group’s Casa Calavera restaurant) are located within only a few kilometers of the marina.
