Description
Set on 295.20 acres in upstate New York, this extraordinary estate is comprised of three contiguous parcels offering unmatched privacy, natural beauty, and sweeping views of Whiteface and Esther Mountains. The property is defined by two pristine lakes, Frenchs Brook flowing through, and miles of private hiking trails winding through an unlogged forest. Non-developable state land borders the eastern and southern perimeters, while the only barrier between the property and Whiteface Mountain is a stretch of untouched forest.
Complementing the land are three residences that blend historic charm with modern amenities. The main home, a 1,700-sf residence originally built in 1838, offers two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a basement. Guest quarters include a 1,266-sf cabin complete with three bedrooms and one bath, as well as a 600-sf log cottage built in 2019, complete with two bedrooms, a bathroom, office, and living area. Additional structures include a two-car garage, a workshop, and a woodshed, which provide excellent utility year-round.
Recreational opportunities are plentiful, with lakes and a brook offering excellent trout fishing, complemented by easy access—just ten minutes—to the renowned Ausable River, considered the top trout fishing river in the Northeast and home to The Hungry Trout outdoor activity resort. The property is perfect for hunting, cross-country skiing, and enjoying the outdoors in all seasons. A three-minute drive gets you to the entrance of Whiteface Mountain, while Whiteface Ski Resort is only fifteen minutes away. For water activities, Franklin Falls provides kayaking, boating, and fishing within five minutes.
The location positions the property conveniently close to the region’s most notable towns and attractions. Lake Placid, a renowned resort destination, is just 25 minutes away, while the towns of Wilmington and Saranac Lake are only 10 and 30 minutes, respectively. Plattsburgh and its international airport can be reached in 45 minutes. Whether envisioned as a private retreat, a sporting paradise, or a multi-generational compound, this estate combines natural beauty, abundant recreation, and privacy in the heart of the Adirondacks.

THE ADIRONDACKS, NY. Home to the largest protected natural area in the lower 48 states, the Adirondacks span more than 6 million acres across 12 regional destinations. The Algonquin peoples and the Mohawk nation traveled this land but never settled it, and the region eventually came under control of the English. After the American Revolutionary War, the land passed to the people of New York State and in 1989 part of the region was designated by UNESCO as the Champlain-Adirondack Biosphere Reserve. Nearly 60 percent of the Adirondack Mountains are covered in hardwood forest; these forests and their accompanying wetlands are home to various wildlife including turtles, moose, and many species of birds.
Birding, hunting, motorcycling, rock climbing, and golf offer an array of fun in the mountains; however, if more refined pursuits are desired, then museums, shopping, and wineries in the area are sure to please. Endless warm-weather adventures to be had in the Adirondacks include water activities such as canoeing, kayaking, whitewater rafting, boating, and fishing. Camping is extremely popular in the Adirondacks, and there are numerous campgrounds and RV sites; backcountry and winter camping are also common. Glamorous camping (‘glamping’ for short!) is available for those less interested in getting rugged and offers access to modern luxuries while still allowing glampers to enjoy the great outdoors.
