The first half of 2014 has been busy at Platinum Luxury Auctions, with many properties actually selling prior to their planned auction date, and excellent sign for the luxury markets overall! As June gets underway we take a look back at the several of the luxury real estate auctions we have completed in markets ranging from Hobe Sound to Vero Beach and Wellington.
One of the most notable sales has been a 15-acre equestrian estate in Wellington, FL known as “Wild Orchid Stables,” that sold for $4.235 million prior to the auction date. The sale price exceeded the planned auction’s reserve of $2.75 million and more than doubled the existing sales record ($1.8 million) for the property’s +30-year-old subdivision.
From Wellington we move to the uber-exclusive club community of John’s Island in Vero Beach, where Platinum has now sold two properties within the past year. This golf course estate sold prior to the auction for $2.5 million in just five weeks, after spending nearly four years on the market before the launch of the auction program. The home is situated on an oversized corner lot with a lakeside pool deck and spacious inner courtyard.
We then produced another significant sale in Vero Beach for two oceanfront parcels located in the prestigious Moorings community. The parcels combine for nearly 235 linear feet of direct ocean frontage, and were purchased immediately prior to the auction for $3 million by a purchaser who plans to build one, grand estate on the collective parcels.
Just 24 hours after the sale of the Vero Beach Oceanfront parcels, Platinum Luxury Auctions sold another property located within the Medalist Village in Hobe Sound, FL. The golf community estate sold for $1.1 million, also immediately prior to the auction. Residents of the Village have access to the community’s own Par-3 golf course designed by PGA legend Greg Norman.
